Terms of Service

Effective September 2026.

These terms govern your use of ChamaPoint's mobile app, USSD service, and web portal. By creating an account or using ChamaPoint, you agree to them.

What ChamaPoint is

ChamaPoint is a record-keeping and access tool for your chama's own data: member lists, contributions, loans, and related records that your chama's admins and members enter themselves. ChamaPoint does not manage your chama's money; it records what your chama tells it. Decisions made using that data, such as loan approvals, dividend payouts, and membership status, are your chama's responsibility, not ChamaPoint's.

Accounts and access

• You're responsible for keeping your password and any device you're signed in on secure.
• New members join an existing chama using an organization code from that chama's admin, and their account remains pending until an admin approves it.
• What you can see and do in the app depends on the role your chama's admin has assigned you (member, treasurer, secretary, chair, auditor, investor, or business admin).
• Your chama's admin can deactivate your access if you're removed from the chama.

Accurate records

Contribution amounts, loan terms, and member details are entered by your chama's own admins and staff. ChamaPoint doesn't independently verify the accuracy of records your chama enters. Your chama's admins are responsible for that accuracy, and for resolving disputes about it among your chama's members.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use ChamaPoint for a chama or purpose that isn't legitimate group savings, lending, or welfare activity.
• Attempt to access another chama's data, or another member's account, without authorization.
• Interfere with or attempt to circumvent the platform's security, including its per-chama data isolation.

Suspension

We may suspend a chama's workspace for non-payment of its subscription, or an individual account for violating these terms. Suspension pauses access; it doesn't delete your chama's records.

Account deletion

You can delete your own account at any time from the app. Deleting your account removes your personal details but doesn't remove your chama's financial ledger entries, which remain part of your chama's own records. See our Privacy Policy for details.

No warranty

ChamaPoint is provided "as is." We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don't guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above.
